"Water takes the path of least resistance," I was told, as my father explained to me the importance of grading the landscape of my yard. If I did not provide an alternative path for the water, then it would flow towards my house. Water is a vital element, and at the same time, when not managed well, can become a flood. Likewise, our emotions require a purposeful path, so that they enhance and enrich our lives, rather than flooding our nervous system.

Using the name 'Riverflow' highlights my therapy philosophy to find the gentle way to sculpt a healthier path that will enhance, rather than harm, our personal and relational life experiences. I find it meaningful to understand each persons history (or where the river of emotions are flowing from), what the current impact is, and how we can work together to reprocess this information, learn and implement new skills, and build new pathways that are more proadaptive, nourishing, and beneficial.
